Precautions for the running-in period of planetary geared motors

Update:29-04-2022
Summary:...
As a commonly used reducer, planetary gearmotor are widely used in the machinery industry. Attention should be paid to the operation matters in use, among which there will be a running-in period after the equipment leaves the factory. During this period, it should be noted that:
1. High-speed wear of the planetary gear motor.
In the new servo planetary reducer, due to parts processing, assembly, debugging and other reasons, the contact area of the mating surface is small, but the allowable torque is large. When working, the concave and convex parts of the workpiece surface are embedded with each other to generate friction, and the ground metal chips continue to participate in the friction as abrasives, which further accelerates the wear of the workpiece mating surface. In this way, it is easy to cause parts to wear during the running-in process, and the wear speed is too fast. At this time, if the operation is excessive, the parts will be damaged, resulting in early failure.
2. The planetary reducer has poor lubrication performance;
Due to the small matching clearance of the newly assembled planetary reducer parts and the assembly and other reasons, it is difficult for the lubricating oil (grease) to form a uniform oil film on the friction surface to prevent wear. As a result, the lubricating performance is reduced, resulting in abnormal early wear of the machine. In severe cases, the friction surface will be scratched or bitten, resulting in failure.
3. The parts of the planetary gear motor are loose.
In the early stage of use, due to the effect of alternating loads such as shock and vibration, as well as the influence of factors such as heat and deformation, there are deviations in the geometric shape and matching size, which are easy to loosen and wear the originally fastened parts.
4. The planetary gear motor has a leakage accident.
Due to loose parts, vibration and thermal influence of the reducer, leaks are prone to occur at the sealing surface and pipe joints. Some defects of castings are difficult to find during assembly and debugging, but they are exposed due to vibration, shock and other reasons during the working process, which are manifested as oil leakage (oil leakage). As a result, there are occasional leaks during the break-in process.
5. There are many mistakes in the operation of the planetary gear motor.
Insufficient understanding of the structure and performance of planetary geared motors (especially new operators) can easily lead to operational errors and even mechanical accidents and safety accidents.
